Total revenues of 3 mobile operators in Georgia made up 490 million lari ($147.8 million) in 2020, which was 10 million lari ($3.01 million) down amid the COVID-19 pandemic comparing to 2019, Trend reports via the Georgian National Communication Commission.
According to data from the Georgian National Communication Commission, Magticom revenue made up 222.70 million lari ($67.1 million). Silknet revenues totaled to 178.57 million lari ($53.8 million). As for Vioni Georgia, the company’s income made up 88.56 million lari ($26.7 million).
According to the number of subscribers, the rating of mobile operators is as follows:
1) MagtiCom - 1.97 million subscribers, decrease of 42,772 year-on-year;
2) Silknet - 1.65 million subscribers, decrease 75,935 subscribers year-on-year;
3) Vioni Georgia - 1.25 million subscribers, a decrease of 10,354 subscribers year-on-year;
As for Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), MagtiCom has the highest ARPU, which amounts to 9.80 lari ($$2.96) per subscriber.
Mobile Operators by ARPU:
MagtiCom – 9.80 lari ($2.96);
Silknet – 9.16 lari ($2.76);
Vioni Georgia - 6.31 lari ($1.90).
According to data from the Georgian National Communication Commission, the activities of mobile operators are increasingly dependent on the supply of mobile Internet.
In 2020, consumption of mobile internet was doubled year-on-year. Subscribers of all three mobile operators consumed 20,355 thousand terabytes in December 2020, which is 120 percent more comparing to the previous year.
Subscribers of those three mobile operators consumed 192,315 terabytes in 2020 totally, the increase amounts to 118 percent year-on-year.
