Kazakhstan names value of payments of compulsory vehicle insurance

The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 288,055 vehicles over the period from January through April 2021, which is 32.4 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

As of May 1, 2021, the total number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.8 million.

The committee noted that 85.6 percent of registered cars work on gasoline. Some 12.1 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel, 2.2 percent on diesel fuel, and 0.1 percent on LPG.

The number of registered car accidents amounted to 3,677 cases over the course of the months, which is 10.3 percent more than during the same period of 2020. Some 5,431 people were injured in these accidents.

As of May 1, 2021, insurance companies made 27,788 payments worth 12.2 billion tenge (approximately $28.5 million) on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners.
