Georgia has received revenues worth $703.9 million from international tourism from January through August 2021, which is 45.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
In August Georgia received $198.8 million worth of revenues, which is an increase of 1.243 percent compared to 2020 and a decrease of 51.8 percent compared to the pre-pandemic 2019.
Georgia hosted 266,544 visitors in August 2021 which is a 510 percent increase compared to the same month of 2020, however it is still 75 percent less compared to August 2019.
Below are the top 10 countries, from where people came to Georgia in August 2021:
Russia - 39,909 visitors (+809 percent)
Turkey - 34,847 visitors (+ 114 percent)
Ukraine - 29,372 visitors (+2.849 percent)
Georgia (non-residents) - 23,117 visitors (+390%)
Armenia - 22,733 visitors (+161 percent)
Saudi Arabia - 16,436 visitors (+ 16,435 percent)
Belarus - 13,494 visitors (+5,678 percent)
Kazakhstan - 12,221 visitors (+2,489 percent)
Azerbaijan - 11,181 visitors (+ 198 percent)
Poland - 6,954 visitors (+12,100 percent).
