Cargo transportation through Iran’s Amirabad port soars

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 17 percent in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the 1st month (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 298,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 93,000 tons were loaded and about 205,000 tons were unloaded.

"In addition, about 88,000 tons of cargo were exported and 200,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the second month," the statistics said.

Within the 2nd month, 4,160 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,500 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 351 tons of cargo were loaded and 421 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the second month.

"So, 185,000 tons of essential products, 5,290 tons of metal products, 86,100 tons of construction and mining materials, 618 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.

Moreover, 1,770 tons of chemicals, 1,310 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 8 tons of small and assorted products, 818 tons of container products, 17,300 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month, the statistics said.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
