BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 23 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 323,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 5th month. Of this, 1,020 tons were loaded and over 322,000 tons were unloaded.

Also, about 209,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

Furthermore, 24 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit in the 5th month.

According to the statistics, about 114,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 1,020 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 5th month.

About 194,000 tons of essential products and 3,210 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 420 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 133 tons of small and assorted products, 11,300 tons of container products and about 114,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
