BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Amirabad port in the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), increased by 46 percent, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Amirabad Port and Maritime Department Mohammad Ali Mousapour said, Trend reports.
The director general noted that more than 2.13 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Amirabad port for 5 months.
Mousapour added that the increase was achieved by the acceleration of loading and unloading activity in the port of Amirabad.
The official expressed hope that cargo transportation through the Amirabad port will further increase by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
Meanwhile, more than 416,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Iran’s Amirabad port in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2023). This is an increase of 72.7 percent compared to the same month last year.
