Kazakh Foreign Minister discusses cooperation with Finnish leadership

Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov paid a visit to Finland, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

The key topic of discussion with Finnish politicians was cooperation in the field of business, trade and investment.

Another important issue on the agenda was cooperation in the field of alternative energy and "clean" technologies in the context of the forthcoming EXPO-2017 in Kazakhstan.

During the talks with the Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland Alexander Stubb, the sides discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the context of the upcoming state visit of the President of Finland Sauli Niinisto to Kazakhstan on April 16-18.

Both sides also exchanged views on cooperation in the framework of international organizations and discussed issues of international relations.

During the meeting with the President of Finland, the sides praised cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland, discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral trade, economic, investment and technological cooperation.

Idrisov discussed the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Eero Heinaluoma and gave him an official invitation from the Speaker of the Majilis of Kazakh Parliament Nurlan Nigmatullin to visit Kazakhstan.

During the visit, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan also took part in the opening ceremony of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Finnish capital.
