Kazakhstan will start its own gas supply to China in Q4 2016, KazTransGas reported Sept. 22.
Kazakhstan will pump gas to China through the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China pipeline according to the agreements reached between Kazakh KazMunaiGas and KazTransGas and Chinese PetroChina.
KazTransGas says the linear part of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China pipeline’s C string and four compressor stations have already been built.
The C string’s current capacity is 20 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It is planned to complete the construction of all the C string facilities and increase its capacity to 25 billion cubic meters per year in 2017.
In 2015, Kazakhstan produced 43.71 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 5.2 percent more compared to 2014.
