BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8. The authorities of Kazakhstan have imposed restrictions for the period from July 8 to September 30, 2022 on the export of wheat and meslin (a mixture of wheat and rye), wheat and wheat-rye flour, as well as sunflower seeds from the country, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Committee of State Income of Kazakhstan.
According to the committee, during this period there is a ban on the export to third countries and to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) of wheat and meslin in the amount of more than 550,000 tons. At the same time, the export of wheat and wheat-rye flour is limited to 370,000 tons.
"Quantitative restrictions on the export of wheat and meslin, wheat and wheat-rye flour are introduced in order to ensure food security in Kazakhstan. At the same time, goods released under the customs procedure for export in accordance with the customs legislation of Kazakhstan and the EAEU before the day the restrictions are introduced, are subject to unhindered export," the press service noted.
