BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. The Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan intends to work closely with Meta and TikTok companies, Minister Darkhan Kydyrali said at the annual Astana Media Week (AMW), Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.
“Responsible representatives of Meta platforms and TikTok are among the guests at today's event. We will collaborate with these big companies. Meta and TikTok aim to open their representative offices in Kazakhstan, as well as to give media literacy lessons here,” Kydyrali said during the AMW panel session.
The minister has earlier informed that Facebook – the world's largest social networking website, owned by Meta – has around three billion users. He added that this social media platform has become a critical player in molding public opinion.
According to Kydyrali, TikTok was the most downloaded app in 2021 with billions of active users.
During the panel session, the General Manager of TikTok Global Business Solutions in Eastern Europe, future Head of TikTok Kazakhstan Anastasia Panina underscored joint projects with the country's organizations.
