BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 30. Kazakhstan implemented 12 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 385 MW in 2022, Bulat Aqchulaqov, Minister of Energy, said, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry.
Aqchulaqov added that additional 15 renewable energy projects will be implemented in 2023. Their total capacity is 257 MW.
The minister also said that, by the end of 2022, Kazakhstan will produce 112.7 billion kW/h, which is 98.5 percent of the 2021 energy generation.
The government plans to produce 114.9 billion kW/h in 2023.
Meanwhile, renewable energy sources generation in 2022 reached 4.5 billion kW/h, which is a 6.6 percent increase compared to 2021.
The Kazakh government intends to increase the renewable energy sources generation to 5 billion kW/h in 2023.
