BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Kazakhstan has attracted about 69 billion Kazakh tenge ($153.29 million) from the tourism sector of the Turkestan region, Trend reports.
According to the official source of Kazakhstan, 19 tourist investment projects were completed and put into operation in the region last year.
The development of tourism in the Turkestan region is carried out through three main directions: historical and cultural, ecological and therapeutic.
There are 770 historical and cultural monuments in the region, which contributes to the development of historical tourism.
Four specially protected natural sites have been created for the development of eco-tourism, as well as 30 tourist routes have been developed.
Furthermore, there are 72 medical and wellness facilities in the region, which contributes to the development of medical tourism.
Meanwhile, according to these destinations, more than 470,000 tourists and more than 1 million guests arrived in the region last year.
