ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 31. Kazakhstan's Atyrau Oil Refinery became the first among major oil refineries to commence production of environmentally friendly RON-92 gasoline (of local K5 class, equivalent to Euro-5 standard), Trend reports.

According to KazMunayGas national oil company, this step coincides with the company's environmental policy.

The key advantage of this eco-friendly fuel is its 5-fold reduction in sulfur compounds compared to the K4 class. Additionally, K5 class gasoline restricts the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene) and additives.

Using K5 class fuel, the emission of toxic substances is significantly reduced, resulting in a less harmful impact on human health. This includes a decrease in respiratory irritations, inflammatory processes, and negative effects on the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Moreover, the use of K5 class gasoline positively influences the operational characteristics of vehicles.

Achieving the K5 gasoline quality standard was made possible through the launch of new technological units during a three-stage modernization of the refinery. The average daily production capacity of RON-92-K5 gasoline stands at 5,500 tons.
