ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 11. The Saudi Arabian Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Company (AMAK) is interested in the mining and exploration of copper and zinc in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

This topic was discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev and General Director of AMAK Mohammed Bin Mana Aballala.

Kazakhstan is actively developing the sphere of subsoil use of solid minerals. The country offers an attractive investment climate and a transparent business support system, making it an important partner on the global stage.

Possible cooperation with AMAK will open new horizons for strengthening relations between the two countries.

The sides confirmed their readiness for further fruitful cooperation. They also noted the prospects for the development of the mining industry and strengthening mutually beneficial ties between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia for 2022 amounted to $16.5 million, which is 90.5 percent higher than the previous year ($8.6 million).

The volume of exports from Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia at the end of last year decreased by 14.2 percent and amounted to $4.7 million.

Imports to Kazakhstan from Saudi Arabia in 2022 increased 3.7 times and reached $11.8 million.
