BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 25. Kyrgyzstan will commence the construction of a green city in the city of Kemin in 2025, Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Zhaparov said during the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79) in New York, Trend reports.
"Next year, we will start building a green city in Kemin. We aim to create a model that will inspire other regions of our country, promoting the preservation of a clean environment for future generations. I am confident that it will become an economic, trade, and cultural tourism hub, as well as a center for innovation and new technologies," Zhaparov stated.
The President also mentioned that construction has already begun on the modern and innovative city of "Asman" along the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.
He highlighted that Central Asia is becoming an increasingly important region for global security and the world economy.
"Kyrgyzstan, in cooperation with neighboring countries, continues to work on sustainable development in the region. In unison with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, we are constructing the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power station to meet the region's energy and water needs. We are also involved in the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which will strengthen trade and transport cooperation and connect the East and West of the continent," he added.
