Uzbek Ambassador to Spain Dilshod Akhatov has presented his credentials to King Juan Carlos I, the Jahon agency under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.

Uzbek Ambassador to Spain Dilshod Akhatov has presented his credentials to King Juan Carlos I, the Jahon agency under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.

The status and prospects of Uzbek-Spanish relations in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed during the meeting.

King of Spain, noted the positive results of cooperation between the two countries, which has deep historical roots, praised the friendly and multi-faceted ties with Uzbekistan, and the great potential for further deepening and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in
various fields.

King Juan Carlos I expressed sincere wishes prosperity and success to the Uzbek people.

Dilshod Akhatov, born in 1972, a career diplomat, was appointed ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany in May 2010.

The president's eldest daughter Gulnara Karimova was Uzbek ambassador to Spain from January 2010 to August 2011 prior to Akhatov.
