BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. The number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 29.4 million from January through May 2022, which is an increase of 23.3 percent compared to the same period last year (23.8 million), Trend reports, referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
The number of payment terminals installed in the country during the specified period decreased from 439,008 to 433,178.
From January through May 2022, the volume of transactions through payment terminals in Uzbekistan amounted to 58.2 trillion soums ($4.8 billion), which is an increase of 45.8 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (39.9 trillion soums or $3.7 billion).
