Uzbekistan sees increase in volume of pomegranate exports in 9M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 22. Uzbekistan has exported more than 12,000 tons of pomegranates worth $12.5 million from January through September 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

The export of pomegranate increased by 1,700 tons compared to the corresponding period last year.

The biggest amount of pomegranate was exported from the country’s Fergana region, which amounted to 3,900 tons, followed by the Namangan region (1,500 tons), Tashkent region (1,400 tons) in third place, Kashkadarya region (1,300 tons) comes next.

During this period, most of the pomegranates were exported to Russia in the amount of 7,200 tons, followed by Kazakhstan (3,200 tons), Tajikistan (731 tons), and Kyrgyzstan (560 tons).
