BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover from January through April 2023 grew by 13.4 percent year-on-year, Trend reports.
Thus, according to the latest data from Statistics Committee, the country's trade turnover reached $19.6 billion ($17.2 billion over the same period of 2022).
As such, exports from Uzbekistan in the reporting period of 2023 totaled $7.6 billion - up by 6.2 percent year-on-year from $7.2 billion in January-April 2022. At the same time, the share of exports in the total trade turnover of Uzbekistan accounted for 39.1 percent.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's imports from January through April 2023 amounted to $11.9 billion, which is an increase of 18.6 percent, compared to the same period of 2022 ($10 billion). The share of Uzbek imports in the total trade turnover stood at 60.9 percent.
In 2022, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted $50 billion - up by 18.5 percent or $7.8 billion, year-on-year ($42.1 billion in 2021). Exports from Uzbekistan in 2022 totaled $19.3 billion, while imports to the country amounted to $30.6 billion.
