TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 19. Russia’s Kalmyk State University and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation signed an agreement for the establishment of an agro-innovation center in 2024 in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Trend reports.

The new innovation hub is said to specialize in the development of new technologies for the breeding and reproduction of farm animals.

Representatives of the Kalmyk State University state that the innovation laboratory will develop new technologies for the reproduction of farm animals and the selection and implementation of technology for small cattle and cattle of the Kalmyk breed, which poses great interest among our Uzbek colleagues.

Projects on internationalization of educational programs and training of future personnel are planned with Uzbekistan’s Tashkent State Agrarian University.

Meanwhile, during the 2nd Turkic Agro Business Forum in Baku, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov said that Uzbekistan is interested in attracting $50 billion of foreign investment in the agricultural sector of the country.

The minister noted that the textile industry, gardening, animal husbandry, seed production, and others are important and promising sectors in the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan.

He added that the government of Uzbekistan provides subsidies to farmers for the introduction of water-saving technologies and the purchase of seeds.
