TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 2. Russian FlySeeAgro company, specializing in high-precision field monitoring using drones equipped with ultra-low-volume sprayers, and Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the implementation of the ‘Creation of own production of unmanned aircraft systems in the Republic of Uzbekistan’ investment program, Trend reports.

The document was signed during a meeting between the Director General of FlySeeAgro Vasily Ptitsyn and the head of the Directorate of the Navoi Free Economic Zone in Uzbekistan Habib Abdullaev.

The signed document presupposes the production of drones in Navoi for the needs of agriculture, as well as export to foreign markets.

The total cost of the program in the five-year perspective is estimated at $80 million.

The project involves the training of qualified personnel in Uzbekistan, the creation of a corresponding enterprise in the Navoi Free Economic Zone and the management system of the republic's manufacturing enterprises involved in the program.

"The involvement of experts from Russia, as well as the assistance and production potential of the Uzbek side will give impetus to the production and use of unmanned aerial vehicles with subsequent export," FlySeeAgro noted.

The company representatives also added that signing a cooperation document with Uzbekistan is a springboard to enter the investment markets of the Middle East.

Meanwhile, during the 2nd Turkic Agro Business Forum in Baku, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov said that Uzbekistan is interested in attracting $50 billion of foreign investment in the agricultural sector of the country.

The minister noted that the textile industry, gardening, animal husbandry, seed production, and others are important and promising sectors in the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan.
