TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 22. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a senior secured loan of up to 15 million euros to Eurasia Bottlers, a leading local producer of energy drinks in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

The total project cost amounts to 32.4 million euros and includes a contribution of 17.4 million euros by Eurasia Bottlers.

The funds will be used to improve Eurasia Bottlers' competitiveness by supporting capacity expansion and the installation of new bottling lines, which will contribute to the development of local production and reduce imports of energy drinks to Uzbekistan.

The project will also support the construction of a new BREEAM In-Use (Good) certified production complex, which will be one of the first certified green industrial buildings in Uzbekistan.

Eurasia Bottlers will also purchase and implement energy-efficient and renewable energy production technologies. This will reduce energy consumption and partially meet the company's own energy needs.

Meanwhile, the current loan portfolio of EBRD projects in Uzbekistan has totaled 2.3 billion euros as of December 31, 2023.

In particular, the EBRD's loan portfolio is calculated for the implementation of 81 projects.
