TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 17. In May this year, Uzbekistan's Samarkand will host the upcoming summit of the Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dialogue, Trend reports.

The news follows a meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Kuwait.

This major event will bring together key leaders to discuss and strengthen cooperation in various sectors including trade, culture, tourism, and education.

In the course of the meeting, the leaders also discussed preparations for cross-cultural and tourism weeks to be held in both countries, aimed at fostering people-to-people exchanges and enhancing cultural ties.

Furthermore, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting each other within international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. They also expressed their willingness to continue working together on regional security and economic issues, underscoring the importance of their growing partnership.

The president of Uzbekistan is visiting Kuwait at the invitation of the country's Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from February 17 through 18.

The visit program schedules high-level bilateral talks in Kuwait City, as well as meetings with the leadership and members of the government, heads of leading Kuwaiti companies, and banking and financial structures. Following the negotiations, it is expected that a package of joint documents and agreements will be adopted.
