Relatives of two criminals, sentenced to death in the Iranian city of Sirjan, organized confusion on the place of execution and kidnapped them, the official website of the Iranian television IribNews reported.
The police tried to prevent riots by shooting in the air, as well as with tear gas. According to the web-site, one of the people sentenced to death during the kidnapping was still alive.
The prosecutor of Sirjan city said the two people sentenced to death were accused of trying to rob the bank using a firearm and threatening the lives of civilians.
