Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the political developments in regional and international arenas have been rapid, diverse and extensive, IRNA reported.

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Tehran on Thursday.

The president emphasized on the necessity for vigilance of the governments and nations of the region against the enemies' plots in order to help to foil them.

Referring to the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers principles such as freedom, justice, democracy and the right to determine their fates as the rights of all nations, President Ahmadinejad noted that the governments should act in a way as to recognize these principles for all nations.

"Iran defends the rights of nations vis-a-vis the occupying forces and big powers and it is always besides the regional countries and freedom-seekers of the world," he added.

President Ahmadinejad noted that Iran and Turkey can take part in implementing positive measures in the interest of all nations such as establishment of peace, security and stability.

He pointed out that Iran welcomes holding talks with Turkey at different levels.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu for his part said that Turkey is also willing to continue holding talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran and expansion of bilateral ties.

"Turkey also considers the political developments taking place in the Middle East as Islamic awakening and it also considers the efforts by Imperialism for penetrating in these developments as harmful to Muslim World," he added.
