The trial on "Kahrizak prison" incident is being held today in Iran's Penal Court 76, behind closed doors, Mehr reported.

Head of Iran's Social Security Organization Saeed Mortazavi, along with his deputy Ali Akbar Heidari-Far and former judge Hassan Zare Dehnavi were called to the court.

Iran's media outlets reported earlier that the trial will be held openly.

A parliamentary report issued on January 10, 2010 blamed Mortazavi for sending 147 inmates, charged with involvement in the political unrest that occurred after the Iranian presidential election of June 2009, to the substandard Kahrizak detention center on July 9, 2009.

In 2011, Tehran's Military Court dismissed Mortazavi after a series of tragic incidents in the Kahrizak Prison.

The Kahrizak prison is located in the city Karadaj near Tehran. Prisoners involved in protests against the presidential election were kept here.

Iranian Supreme leader Khamenei's decree to close the prison was issued after the mysterious death of several people in the same prison. Ex-prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi is accused of the murder of these people.
