BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Iran and the US continue to exchange messages on various issues, including the lifting of sanctions, Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Tehran on May 29, Trend reports.

According to him, even though Iran and the US will hold a presidential election, the exchange of indirect messages between the two countries has never stopped.

Bagheri Kani stated that Iran's nuclear activities continue under the supervision of the Supreme National Security Council.

The official noted that deliberations are underway with several countries to unblock Iran's funds frozen in foreign countries.

To note, after the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, and their entourage in a plane crash, reports emerged about the termination of Iran's indirect negotiations with the US, as well as about changes in Iran's negotiating council.

Meanwhile, indirect negotiations between the US and Iran were held in Oman in mid-May. During the deliberations, the possible implications of Iran and its proxy forces in the region, as well as US concerns about Tehran's nuclear program, were discussed.
