Imports of non-oil products to Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province announced

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Imports of non-oil products to Sistan and Baluchestan Province located in the southeast of Iran amounted to 209,000 tons worth $297 million during the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

The import of non-oil products to Sistan and Baluchestan Province increased by 9 percent in value and decreased by 33 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023).

During the mentioned period, mainly rice, corn fodder, sesame, cattle, tires, meat, cloth, bananas, etc. were imported to Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

The products were mainly imported from Pakistan, India, China, Brazil, UAE and Afghanistan.

A total of 133,000 tons of products were transported through the Sistan and Baluchestan Province over 2 months. The transit of products decreased by 9 percent compared to the same period last year. Transit was carried out by 6673 trucks and 171 wagons.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, 5.84 million tons of products worth about $9.08 billion were imported to Iran during 2 months (from March 20 through May 20, 2024). Iran's imports of non-oil products increased by 9.19 percent in value and 13.3 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
