Iran declares sum of loans issued by its banks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 6. Iranian banks provided loans worth about 38.9 quadrillion rials (about $925 billion) in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Trend reports, referring to Iran's Central Bank.

According to the statistics, Iranian banks granted loans worth about 15.8 quadrillion rials (about $375 billion) in the service sector during the 11 months.

The statistics add that Iranian banks issued loans worth 14.2 quadrillion rials (about $338 billion) in the industrial and mining sectors during the 11 months.

Based on the statistics, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 3.92 quadrillion rials (about $93.2 billion) in the commercial sector during the period.

Information showed that Iranian banks provided loans to the agricultural sector in the amount of about 2.77 quadrillion rials (about $65.9 billion) over 11 months.

The statistics revealed that loans worth 2.19 quadrillion rials (about $52.2 billion) were extended by Iranian banks in the housing and construction sectors.

About 8.41 trillion rials (about $200 million) worth of loans were issued in other unspecified fields.

To note, the statistics show that loans are granted for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, working capital, renovation works, development, the purchase of personal goods, the purchase of apartments, etc.
