The election fever in Iran is heating up day by day with hopefuls outlining their plans.

Principlist campaigner Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabifard has said that he believes the next administration should be formed based on meritocracy, the Fars News Agency reported.

The deputy parliament speaker said that competent individuals representing various political groups will serve in his government if he wins the election.

The 60-year-old hopeful has pledged to reduce Iran's dependence on oil revenues and shore up the manufacturing sector.

The senior MP has also talked of foreign policy.

Aboutorabifard says with a dynamic diplomacy, the country can better safeguard its interests on the international scene.

In September, the Iranian Interior ministry announced that the country will hold the 11th presidential election on June 14, 2013.
