Jordan to maintain special relations with Lebanon: FM

Visiting Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Joudeh on Saturday stressed the importance of special relations between Lebanon and Jordan and the keenness of the two countries' leadership to maintain them, the local al-Nahar newspaper reported on its website.

Visiting Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Joudeh on Saturday stressed the importance of special relations between Lebanon and Jordan and the keenness of the two countries' leadership to maintain them, the local al-Nahar newspaper reported on its website.
   After his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Joudeh said that the visit was to congratulate Hariri in the name of Jordan's King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Samir Rifai, Xinhua reported.
   The Jordanian minister put Hariri in the image of the latest extensive efforts to re-launch the peace process which aims to establish an independent Palestinian state.
   Earlier, Joudeh met with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman to discuss the latest regional developments. He also met with Speaker Nabih Berri at Ain al-Tineh and stressed his country's keenness on Lebanon's security, stability, prosperity and progress.
   Joudeh had started his visit to Beirut by meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Ali al-Shami. The two ministers stressed upon the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation between Jordan and Lebanon.
