Egypt has lodged a formal protest to Israel over the latter's raid at the border area which killed three Egyptian soldiers, official MENA news agency said on Friday.
MENA quoted a military source as saying that Egypt demanded Israel open a quick investigation into the killing of Egyptians deployed on Egyptian soil by an Israeli missile, Xinhua reported.
Seven other Egyptians were injured in the Israeli raid.
Egypt is conducting a full assessment on the borders with Israel to stand on the reasons behind the incident.
The Oja crossing in central Sinai, used for trade exchange between Egypt and Israel, has been closed until further notice, the agency said in another report.
