Syria is refusing to let the United Nations nuclear watchdog inspect three sites that may have been used to develop secret nuclear reactor, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Yukiya Amano said Thursday dpa reported

Although the Syrian government had said in August it was ready to resolve questions about the alleged Dair Alzour reactor that was bombed by Israel in 2007, Amano said that no progress was made in meetings between officials from the UN nuclear agency and Syria in Damascus in October.

In June, the IAEA board of governors referred the matter to the UN Security Council, after Amano said in a report that Dair Alzour was very likely a covert reactor.
