(Reuters) - Israel will allow the Palestinians to deploy hundreds of security forces in the West Bank city of Jenin after they complete a U.S.-funded training program in Jordan, Israeli officials said on Tuesday.
Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak will inform Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad of the decision when they meet on Wednesday, the officials said.
The U.S.-funded training program for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's forces got under way in Jordan in January.
