Israel Air force planes attacked targets in the Gaza Strip before dawn Friday, a day after Israel was hit with rocket fire from the salient, a military spokeswoman said, DPA reported.
There were no reports of casualties.
The airstrike, which Israel said targeted a weapons cache in the north of the enclave and two smuggling tunnels in the south, came after militants in the Gaza Strip fired a makeshift rocket and mortar shells Thursday afternoon at Israeli communities adjacent to the salient.
The rockets and shells caused no damage or injuries.
