Bjoerndalen clinches fifth World Cup biathlon title

( dpa )- Ole Einar Bjoerndalen of Norway clinched the overall biathlon World Cup title Sunday after finishing sixth in the men's mass start over 15 kilometres in Khanty-Mansiysk .

It is the fifth time the 34-year-old has won the large crystal globe as season's overall best.

Poland's Tomasz Sikora won the race to follow-up his runner's-up finish in Saturday's pursuit over 12.5 kilometres .

Sikoro posted 41 minutes 20.8 seconds with one shooting error to edge the German Daniel Graf and Czech Michal Slesingr who finished in a dead heat for second place, 0.15.1 seconds behind with two errors each.

With three races remaining, Bjoerndalen has an unassailable 851 points, ahead of Dmitry Yaroshenko of Russia (682) and Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway (594), winner of Saturday's pursuit.
