Pictures were published by a prague daily Monday of President Vaclav Klaus in the company of a young flight attendant, prompting speculation that the 66-year-old is the latest Czech politician caught having an extra-marital affair. ( dpa )
Pictures published by Aha tabloid showed Klaus leaving a golf club in a company of 25-year-old government fleet flight attendant Petra Bednarova late Friday night, his limousine arriving at a hotel outside Prague and the two leaving together early next morning.
The photographs immediately sparked speculation on whether the recently re-elected president, long married to 64-year-old economist Livia Klausova, was having an affair.
Such images have captured other Czech leaders in the past.
Conservative Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, 51, who remains married to his long-time wife Pavla Topolankova, 52, has a baby son with his live-in girlfriend and fellow conservative politician Lucie Talmanova, who is 11 years his junior.
The couple, whose affair was revealed in 2006 thanks to a tabloid photograph, officially first appeared together at Klaus' inauguration Friday.
The premier's top rival, opposition Social Democratic leader Jiri Paroubek, 55, rushed to divorce his long-time wife Zuzana Paroubkova, 50, and marry his mistress, translator Petra Kovacova, 34, after they were snapped together en route to a vacation in the summer of 2007.
