Leaders Munich shocked 2-0 by lowly Cottbus

( dpa ) - Branko Jelic was the two-goal hero and goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel saved a penalty as Energie Cottbus shocked Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich 2-0 on Saturday.

The Serbian forward Jelic struck in the 18th and 38th and Tremmel saved the spot kick from French star Franck Ribery in-between to lift Cottbus out of the drop zone from last place with the first 2008 win.

Sluggish Munich remained first with 50 points after the second league defeat of the season, but Werder Bremen can draw within four points if they beat VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.

SV Hamburg moved into second place for now with 45 points from a 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund. Champions VfB Stuttgart drew 1-1 at VfL Bochum, SC Karlsruhe were ambushed 1-0 by Eintracht Frankfurt at home, Hanover 96 and Arminia Bielefeld drew 2-2 while Hansa Rostock and Hertha Berlin played to a 0-0 draw.
