( dpa )- An attack against an Algerian military convoy by a group of underground Muslim fighters in Jijel east of Algiers left at least one soldier dead on Sunday.
About 20 soldiers were wounded by a roadside bomb along the convoy's route in El Aouana, reports from officials circles in Algiers said.
The soldiers engaged in a firefight with the terrorists and the army bombed the terrorists' alleged hideout.
Separately, in Lakhdaria about 120 kilometres east of Algiers, two young girls were killed in a terrorist attack on a bridge that is often used by the police's antiterrorism division.
