An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale on Monday rocked the northwestern coast of Peru, with no reports of casualties or damages so far.
The earthquake occurred at 9:09 a.m. local time (1409 GMT) and its epicenter was in the sea near Punta Negra, the Geophysics Institute of Peru said, adding that it had a depth of 15 kilometers.
By press time, civil protection authorities in areas where the earthquake was felt have not reported any casualties or damages, Xinhua reported.
