Three people were killed and at least 35 others injured in a road collision between a schoolbus filled with children and two other vehicles on Monday, local police said.

They reported that the schoolbus began to swerve out of control and struck a mini-bus and a car before then toppling over on a road in the northern England country of Keswick, DPA reported.

Police, fire department and air force personnel were at the scene to help in rescue operations.

The initial reports did not indicate whether the three killed were school children. Four of the injured were said to be in critical condition.
