Sporting Braga sent Sevilla out of the Champions League, while Hapoel Tel Aviv and Basel made sure of their places in the group stage of the competition on Tuesday, dpa reported.

Lima scored a hat-trick as Portuguese side Braga came away from Sevilla with a 4-3 win to clinch a 5-3 aggregate victory in the qualifying play-off.

Basel emerged 3-0 winners at Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol, with Alexander Frei scoring in the 80th and 87th minutes after Marco Streller had opened the account in the 74th. The Swiss side had won the first leg 1-0.

Hapoel Tel Aviv and Salzburg ended a goal apiece, enough to put the home side through 4-3 on aggregate.

The matches between Sampdoria and Werder Bremen, and Anderlecht and Partizan Belgrade went into extra-time, with both 4-4 on aggregate.
