At least four Afghan police officers were killed Monday and 17 people injured by a suicide bomber in eastern Afghanistan, a local official said.
"The incident occurred in Nerkh district around 6 am at the entrance of the district police department," said Ataullah Khogyani, governor's spokesman for Wardak province, dpa reported.
"The injured include police and civilians," Khogyani said.
Four of the injured were in critical condition.
Taliban militants claimed responsibility for the attack, saying scores of police had been killed.
