Turkey's prime minister expressed on Friday Turkey's wish that all ethnic groups in Macedonia would live in peace and prosperity, AA reported.

Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey wished that all ethnic people living in Macedonia would live in peace and order and enjoy an advanced prosperity.

"Turkey is in an effort to extend every support to Turks living in Macedonia, its friend in the Balkans, to ensure them live in a high level of welfare," Erdogan told people of Gostivar during his formal visit to Macedonia.

Erdogan expressed belief that the happiness, security and prosperity of Turkish community in Macedonia would connect Turkey and Macedonia to each other with stronger ties.

Premier Erdogan said Turkish, Albanian and Macedonian young people living in Macedonia should be encouraged to complete their education and become administrators in that country.

"Preserve your values and support each other, and carry this beautiful country to a prosperous future," Erdogan also said.

Erdogan addressed almost 10,000 people, most of whom were Turkish people living in Macedonia, in Gostivar. People opened banners writing, "Man Shaking the World."

Prime Minister Erdogan's speech was often interrupted with ovation.

Erdogan later walked in Gostivar's streets, and people of Gostivar hung Turkish flag and Erdogan's Justice & Development (AK) Party flags to their balconies.

Premier Erdogan hailed the people of Gostivar as he walked in streets.

Erdogan cancelled his visit to Ohrid, the last stop of his Macedonia tour, due to his busy schedule.

Earlier on Friday, Erdogan opened a Turkish school, to which Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA) provided equipment.
