An assassination an attempt was carried out in Istanbul on the Turkish armed forces' retired colonel and his spouse, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet said June 7.
Reportedly, two unidentified persons on a motorcycle shot at the retired colonel Cetin Oguz and his wife, and then fled the scene.
Oguz and his wife were reported wounded, and they are listed in a critical condition.
A criminal case was launched into the incident.
