In July 2019, white cars were in greatest demand among Turkish citizens, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Some 53.9 percent of cars in July 2019 were white, according to the report.
“Some 23.6 percent of cars on Turkish roads in July 2019 were gray, 6.7 percent - black, 5.7 percent - red, 4.8 percent – blue and 3 percent – yellow,” the report said.
Some 2.3 percent of cars that were driven in July 2019 were of different colors.
In July 2019, the number of vehicles on Turkish roads increased by 61.30 percent compared to the same month of 2018 and amounted to 23.086 million vehicles.
The share of cars amounted to 54.1 percent, that of vans and trucks to 16.4 percent, motorcycles to 14.3 percent, tractors to 8.2 percent, and of other vehicles to 7 percent.
Renault accounted for 20 percent of active vehicles used in July 2019, Fiat – 14.5 percent, Volkswagen – 9.3 percent, Peugeot – 5.6 percent, Honda – 4.5 percent.
The remaining 46.4 percent accounted for other car brands.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Models of Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are currently assembled in Turkey. Turkey also manufactures local brands of buses such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
