Passenger transportation by air in Turkey dropped by 2.2 percent in January-February 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to slightly over 26.2 million passengers, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

During this period, the passenger flow on domestic flights amounted to slightly over 14.6 million people, which is 9.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

Slightly over 11.5 million passengers were transported by international flights in January-February 2020, which is 8.9 percent more than in the same period of 2019, the ministry said.

In total, 9.2 million passengers were transported via three major airports of Turkey’s Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya cities in January-February 2020, the ministry added.
