BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 29. In January 2024, 15 companies with Russian assets were registered in Türkiye, which is 42 companies less than in the same period of 2023, Trend reports, referring to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).
During the reporting period, along with the decrease in the number of registered Russian companies, it is said that their total assets have also decreased.
"In the reporting period, the combined assets of Russian companies registered in Türkiye stood at 41.6 million Turkish liras, or $1.3 million. However, in the corresponding period of 2023, this figure increased to 118.4 million Turkish liras, or $3.8 million," TOBB stated.
The union also highlighted that the majority of Russian companies registered in January 2024 were located in Istanbul, numbering seven.
"The total assets of Russian companies registered in Istanbul amounted to 3.1 million Turkish liras, or $99,159," TOBB noted.
According to the information, six companies with Russian assets were registered in Türkiye in January 2024 in wholesale and retail trade.
The rest of the companies are involved in other sectors of the economy.
