Iranian FM calls for expanding Iran-Pakistan trade relationship

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said here Wednesday besides participating in D-8 Summit he would have meetings with Pakistani authorities to expand bilateral economic and trade relationship.

Talking to IRNA he said that the 'main objective of our visit is to participate in the D-8 meeting and besides this is to have bilateral meetings with our brothers and sisters in Pakistan.'

"We would like to look into the ways and means to expand our economic and trade relationship with Pakistan and we have very good news which we will declare tomorrow," he said.

"So with good omen we are looking forward for enhancement of trade and economics between the eight countries which are the members of the D-8," Ali-Akbar Salehi added.

He said that there would be a trilateral meeting of Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey with Iran's assistance about Syria. "We had two meetings before and this would be third meeting on the sidelines of the D-8" said the Foreign Minister.

"We should keep our hopes about Syria, we are in a difficult situation, it is a very sensitive issue but we are working with good intentions to resolve the Syrian issue peacefully based on Syrian resolution without allowing the foreign interference," he viewed.
