Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has received British Minister for European Affairs David Lidington today.
The Georgian presidential administration told Trend that the main topic of the meeting was the elections in Georgia, the process of peaceful transfer of power, as well as the current political process.
Saakashvili has reiterated that the main priority for the country is the integration into European and Euro-Atlantic organizations.
He said that he is ready to closely work with the new government in this area.
The President once again thanked the British side for supporting the process of integrating into NATO.
Lidington has praised the elections in Georgia as democratic. He expressed confidence that the existing democratic processes will be appreciated at the NATO ministerial meeting in December.
The minister also said that Georgia is NATO's important partner and stressed its contribution to the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan.
Lidington has reiterated his full support for Georgia's territorial integrity.
